OUR ACADEMY

Worthing Modern Martial Art Academy was established in 1998 by our
Chief instructor Savio Aragona.
With over 40 years experience in martial arts, Savio holds a 4th Dan in
Shotokan Karate and he's a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Judo. His repertoire of martial arts gives his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighting and teaching style a personalised cutting edge.
Savio’s most recent achievements as a fighter include IBJJF European Gold Champion (Lisbon) 2018 and Judo National Gold Champion 2015.
As a competing instructor, Savio has a deep understanding of his students plight, up-to-date skills and is an inspiration within the BJJ community and sport.
Classes are tailored to support the needs and capabilities of each student.
By extending his passion and dedication to the teaching and practice of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, students are supported, as individuals, to gain confidence and progress within the sport. There is no pressure to grapple or compete, which will come, with confidence, to each student in their own time.
The environment within the club is positive and inclusive. All members are helpful and supportive to each other and recognise that their own progress is made with the help, practice and encouragement of all club members together.
This is a great environment for absolute beginners as well as returners to martial arts and advanced students.
WMMAA is a member of FEKO (Federation of English Karate Organisations) and FMA (Federation of Martial Arts) and is fully insured. Savio is DBS checked and Child protection certified through FEKO International.
There are a range of membership and training options available to ensure BJJ is accessible to all ages, genders, disabilities and financial circumstances.
Please contact us for further information or to discuss
your personal circumstance in confidence.
We want to encourage people to practice BJJ with us as it is
great for your mental and physical well being.
Ours is a club where safety comes first so please take us up on your
free trial lesson and see for yourself.
BJJ is great for stress-release, self confidence, self-awareness and self-discovery. It is a great way to get fit and to make new friends as well as challenging yourself.
Savio Aragona’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu lineage is:
